Clumber park – 27th July

I have been offered a paid job from next week till the end of the summer as a staff member has left so now i’ll be getting paid to work in the events office instead of volunteering which is great for me. I have been given more hours as well so im not just doing one day a week anymore im doing four instead, which is also great.

Clumber park – 20th July

Today i was in the office again, answering the phone and doing filing for the two event managers.

This week they have a wedding on and the entire party have hired the Clumber park campsite so i have been having to sort out things at the campsite as well as on the events field where their marquee is going. We have just been going over the small details and making sure that everything is done for it.

It’s been good to see what small details could be easily overlooked with an event like this.

Clumber park dog show- 12th June

Today was the annual dog show at Clumber and I helped out between 12 and 4:30.

It was a really good day and the staff were dotted about all over the sports field covering every area making sure that everybody was safe.

There were gazebos with different information stands, and fortunately the gazebos came in very useful as it decided to pour it down all afternoon flooding most of the field so the categories had to be rushed through so people could go home because the weather got really bad towards the end of the day.

But even though the attendees got to go home early because of the weather us staff were still there till half past four taking down all the equipment and tidying the field after and making sure everything was taken down.

Even though the weather was terrible the event was still good and i still had fun at it.

Clumber park dog show

Clumber park events office – 4th May- 6th July

I have still been working at the Clumber park events office each Wednesday and I’m really enjoying it there I love the staff that I work with one of whom is a work placement student from Sheffield Hallam. I just sort our paperwork and answer phones but I get to watch the other event managers and how they operate and what they have to organise to make the events that they put on as well as the weddings they hold at Clumber park.

I like being able to work in a park all day I don’t mind the early starts when I get to come and work here. i think i know now that i want to really organise outdoor events or at least workk somewhere that is outside like national trust places and stately homes.

Clumber Park events office -Wednesday 27th April

Today I started work in the Clumber Park offices helping to take bookings for their venue for parties and weddings. I also help with the rest of their paperwork and any other jobs that they need help with.

I got the job of events assistant a month ago and with this role I get to help on the events that they run, but I also get to help in their offices and see the planning that goes into everything as well, which is great experience.

This morning I took two online bookings which I had to process as well as two bookings over the phone as well. Even though i’ve only been doing this job for a very short time it has already helped with my confidence of talking to people over the phone as well as improving on my limited knowledge of I.T.

I will do this job every Wednesday from 8-1 and then I will also be doing extra hours when they have specific events on that they need help with.
